Progress during examinations

Gepubliceerd op 13 December 2025

This past weekend, the young karateka of Fight Game Academy took center stage during the youth karate exams. Under the watchful eyes of Sensei Peter Boer and Sempei Wendy van Gils, the young athletes had the opportunity to demonstrate their progress and they did so with confidence.

In front of a full room of parents, family members and other supporters, the candidates showed what they had been working hard on over the past months. Each exam began with Kihon, the fundamental movements of punches, kicks and stances. This was followed by Kata, where technique, control and precision came together. For each grade, a different Kata was required — a challenge our karateka met with determination. Finally, the Randori section allowed them to apply their skills in controlled sparring.

The atmosphere was tense but respectful. Examiners paid close attention to technique, discipline and posture. Rightfully so, as karate is about more than just movement it’s about mindset and perseverance.

We are proud of what our youth has shown. Not just in terms of technique, but in their dedication and growth as martial artists. Congratulations to all participants on earning your new ranks. On to the next level.

Tenth Youth kickboxing exam

Gepubliceerd op 13 December 2025

This past weekend marked a special moment at Fight Game Academy: for the tenth time, we organized the youth kickboxing exams. A milestone we look back on with great pride.

Under the guidance of Sensei Peter Boer, Sempei Sakvan Arab, and Sempei Wendy van Gils, the young fighters had the opportunity to showcase what they’ve learned over the past period. From basic combinations to self-created sequences each participant brought their own style to the exam.

What made it even more special? The large turnout of parents, siblings, and grandparents. Their presence filled the room and, for some participants, added a bit of extra pressure. But those healthy nerves were transformed into focus, strength, and pride.

The exam covered all key elements: technical execution, physical control, and mental resilience. That last aspect isn’t scored with points, but it clearly showed in how our young athletes handled pressure, feedback, and perseverance.

All participants passed. And that’s not just a formality it’s the result of commitment, consistency, and the dedicated support of our trainers. We are incredibly proud of our youth. They’ve shown that they’re not only learning how to fight, but also how to grow.

Congratulations to all on your new ranks. You are living proof that hard work pays off. On to the next level.

Successful Jiu Jitsu Exams

Gepubliceerd op 29 November 2025

Friday evening, November 28, was all about the annual Jiu Jitsu exams at Fight Game Academy. Under the guidance of experienced instructors Gerrie Dusseljee and Michel Tentij, the participants demonstrated their skills and dedication.

The exam lasted no less than two hours and covered a wide range of techniques – from punches and kicks to escapes, locks, throws, and control techniques.

At the end of the exam, there was one final, challenging component: free sparring, where the candidates put their learned skills into real practice.

The level of commitment, control, and technique on display reflected true dedication and perseverance. It was wonderful to see how each participant managed to prove their level.

On behalf of the entire team: congratulations on achieving your new rank!

Best 4 Seminar big succes!!

Gepubliceerd op 24 October 2025

Semmy Schilt, Ernesto Hoost, Albert Kraus and Andy Souwer gathered hundreds at the big Best4Seminar in the Netherlands

Last weekend Utrecht in the Netherlands became a true center for combat sports as it hosted the BEST4 Seminar – a large-scale international training camp, organized and led by the world K-1 legends and renowned SENSHI instructors Semmy Schilt, Ernesto Hoost, Albert Kraus and Andy Souwer. They have repeatedly proven their mastery in the ring, becoming icons of combat sports, bringing global recognition to the Netherlands, and turning the country into a magnet for fighters and combat sports fans.

The event took place across at  Sporthallen De Witte in De Bilt and welcomed  200 fighters from different countries.

The BEST 4 Seminar was attended by fighters from all levels from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and England, all united by a single goal: to grow as fighters. And all of them had the opportunity to learn from the BEST4 in kickboxing.

Participants immersed themselves in different styles, techniques, and training approaches, with a single goal: to improve, learn new skills, to become better fighters.

The program included two 90-minute training sessions, with a short break in between for recovery and experience sharing. After the sessions, a relaxed meet-and-greet allowed participants to take photos, get autographs, and chat with the instructors. And the name SENSHI was echoed multiple times throughout the seminar.

During the Q&A session, fighters and legends shared personal stories from the ring: how they handle pre-fight nerves, their approach to different opponents, and the lessons they’ve learned over the years.

Everyone left extremely excited and eagerly awaiting the date for the next BEST4 Seminar.

What a fight!

Gepubliceerd op 15 June 2025

Last weekend, Sakvan Arab made his debut in the A-class at Enfusion in Groningen. After an intense and spectacular battle, he lost by split decision. A result that shows just how close the fight was, it could have gone either way.

Although we had hoped for a win, we look back on Sakvan’s performance with pride. He proved he belongs in the A-class and gave the audience their money’s worth. It was a match full of determination, skill, and perseverance.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our supporters and sponsors. Your support allows Sakvan to chase his dream.

As the saying goes: sometimes you win, sometimes you learn. And this is just the beginning. A short four-day break, then we move on to the next challenge, Japan…
