Schilt and Kiria dominate GLORY event in Stockholm

The big K1 matches were out for two years by problems within the K1 Organization but is now the Glory worldseries are a worthy replacement under the name GLORY and can undoubtedly be called the "formula 1" in the field of Kickboxing.

After a brilliant comeback in Moscow, 2 months ago, Sem Schilt last weekend performed his entrance again in Stockholm and proved that he is still the best fighter of the world in this discipline and wants to stay the king of the ring for time being. The 38-year-old athlete from zuidlaren showed still in top shape during his fight in Stockholm against the more than 13 year old younger Errol Zimmerman. The originating Surinamese had an undefeated record since 2 years and had planned to bump Schilt from his throne in this fight.

In a fight which was supposed to last 5 laps, Schilt dominated from the first round and Schilt made clear that Zimmermans ambitions were not realistic at this level.Fighting on a high working rate, Schilt put simply

the first two rounds on his name and halfway through the third round could conclude that Zimmerman was unable to give resistance and be a threat to Schilt. The towel was thrown in the ring for Zimmerman halfway the third round after suffering from left jabs, frontkicks and an arsenal of combinations. Schilt his match was one of the best fights in his long career in martial arts and proved that the 4 times Worldchampion has a great opportunity to become the new Glory world champion in the final GLORY tournament that will be organized end this year.

Semmy Schilt is by winning on Errol Zimmerman the first fighter that gained the first world heavyweight title of GLORY.

In addition to Sem Schilt as established name in

this martial arts, trainer Dave Jonkers had a new upcoming talent in the class below the 70 kg. The Georgian fighter Davit Kiria could prove himself at the elimination to the last 8 fighters and fight in the Glory final later this year with an amount of money of $ 300,000 for the winner.

Davit Kiria is already 5 years a fighter who prepares under the guidance of trainer Dave Jonkers who sees in the small Georgian a fighter who can perfom at world level and be in the footsteps of his teammate Schilt.Kiria fought against the legendary Thai fighter Kem Sitsongpeenong who has an nearly undefeated record in this lightweight class. The Georgian fighter started furiously in the first round and pulled the Thai legend down with a high roundhousekick down, which gave Davit Kira finally the win in the fight of three rounds.

The ultimate final will take place in November for the lightweight category and the young fighter is certainly a potential candidate for a world title.
